Dreams and Reality

The winter sun,warm and beautiful
 Talks to me with its splendid rays of joy;
And amidst the shimmer and glimmer of frivolous thoughts, It's time for the man to be a boy.

 Attired in colours, the child takes over,
And the boy drifts into the ocean.
Here boats with orange sails are found,
And earth feels like Heaven.

 The birds fly by,singing and dancing,
To charm the tired sailors;
Their voices speak of love and dreams,
And of innocent smiles and tears.

 Miracles don't happen they say,
Yet I see them happen now,
The hearts of the old grow young and fresh,
 And their fears are all drowned.

 The kites with colours fill the sky
Their tails trailing along.
The joy in thought of such a play is,
Their strings are held in ur hands strong.

 The notions of life seem so different here---
In this land of youthful fantasy.
 The pleasure,the thrill and the joys of life.
Shadows out the deceit and hypocrisy.

 Yet the watchful eyes never forget the reality.
 The misery, the pain ----it always lurks in the heart.
And even amidst the clear blue skies and the cool winter breeze,
You can always see the boy and the man apart.

the last two lones were again stunning !!! imagery throughout was also pretty enjoyable :)
on a personal note , i cant quite identify with the thoughts coz i am pretty engaged in my present but sometimes back home on an idle morning , i do miss the cricket back in school (in class 6-7) and the movie sessions (just remembered 'The Mummy' on tht flooded day and how ayashkanta almost drowned !!) .
Hey !! but dont u appreciate the fact that if we cant be a child forever , its coz of a reason . A man too has his own dimensions of freedom and if u think a little , u might just realize tht the present is not tht bad if we make a conscious effort to beautify it.
Surely , the man and the child are different , but its not as if one is better than the other .. just that they are DIFFERENT :)

Hi shaunak...long time. I definitely remember the 'Mummy' adventure. all of u turned up at my place at 9 in the morning and then we waded through half of calcutta to get to Jamuna. Dont think i'll ever forget the school days. I miss the daily football matches very dearly.
