Dark, drab, damp and locked
Got ridden of the waste;
Left in the darkest recess to die
The prisoner…
Essence of humanity has no meaning,
Life is itself lifeless.
He survives with his wishes in his eyes,
The prisoner…
His world of light equals darkness;
Days, months and years go by
Love and feelings has no worth
His soul rebels within…
He has no cravings of food, water and comfort
But just to see a glimpse of life, a glimpse of light.
He is alone, very alone, all by himself,
He thinks and thinks; never stops
Of wishes coming true, desires fulfilled and destinies changed,
But all that’s left of him is his frail, pain-stricken corpse.
Man is a prisoner of his own wishes, own thoughts and own desires.
He has a mind, which is locked in the darkest of chambers.
The mind wants to break free, live and fulfill dreams,
It wants to change reality, wants to master destiny
But fails and fails.....

Pretty serious work !! must admit , though the underlying melancholy probably reflects the state of ur mind ??!!
and the last stanza was superbly framed .. only the last line cud have been "And succeeds .. if only very rarely.." shudnt the reader have some hope after going through art rather than lose it ?
neways , u r the poet here(and by the looks of it - a 'decent' one in the making) and let this be the start of a long and happy experience .
Next poem on something happier and lighter .. plz !!
